Winter rug weights explained
What the grams mean
A rug's weight in grams is the fill per square metre, not what the rug weighs.
Which weight when
- 0 g (a rain sheet): wet days above 10 °C.
- 100 g: 5 to 10 °C.
- 200 g: 0 to 5 °C.
- 300 g: below 0 °C, and the only choice below −10 °C.
A clipped horse needs one weight more than an unclipped one.
